What does FSSAI Modification mean?

FSSAI Modification is a  process that involves conducting alterations or rectifications of errors in the FSSAI registration details. Ensure due disclosure of all changes related to business information, food product category, or production.

Food Business Operators have to report any changes in the business to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) within a rational time. Any changes related to kind of business, the scale of production, products category or formulation etc. should comply with the regulations. Once the FSSAI License or registration (Form C) has been granted, any change required in the same requires filing an application for the modification of the FSSAI License or Registration.

The FSSAI Modification fees related to form C modification is as follows:

A declaration stating the changes for which the application has been filed is also required. The application for modification is scrutinized by Designated Officer (DO) with reference to the existing Form C. On scrutiny, the DO may raise query or objection on the application, seeking clarification or required additional information from the FBO. The response to this query is required to be done within 30 days. 

The application for modification requires re-submission of all the documents submitted at the time of applying for a license.

The Food Business Operator need to attach the supporting evidence or proof of change along with the application, as required.

Documents Required

You need to apply for modification with the documents corroborating the required changes. One also needs to provide all documents originally submitted to register for the basic/state/central license to carry out the FSSAI registration modification process.
